Mike Stevenson was a part of the heart and soul of Camp to Belong-Georgia since its founding. His wife Julie was part of the Founding Board and served as Treasurer from 2007-2013, and again in 2021. Mike Stevenson joined the effort after attending a birthday party at Camp, serving as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors in 2010 and 2011, and as Chair from 2012 to 2014.

Mike's leadership in creating Board policies and procedures was invaluable and helped to create a strong functioning Board. Even when Mike was not on the Board of Directors, his family stayed active in our mission, with Mike and Julie's children collecting birthday gifts for our "Birthday Shop" at their own birthday parties, volunteering at camp for the Scrapbooking and Birthday Party Days (Many of us have fond memories of Mike streamlining the process of setting up the Birthday Party, as he choreographed, with flow chart and all, the transformation of the dining hall into a Birthday Party, complete with Balloons, cakes, gifts, and decorations!!), and his company, ESi, hosting our Annual Golf Tournament since 2010.

Hundreds of children, without even knowing it, have Mike Stevenson to thank for the memories they have created over the years, and hundreds more will continue to feel the effects of his life in the years to come. While we continue to mourn his loss, we are grateful for the generosity and leadership he has shown Camp to Belong-Georgia and to the many separated siblings we continue to serve.
